On the 27th of November Donetsk welcomed a brilliant representative of Russian cinema – Nikita Mikhalkov. Legendary filmmaker, whose movies always inspire and amaze, chose to stay in the Donbass Palace hotel.

On the 13th of November Comedy Club UA performed in Donbass Palace hotel. Donetsk auditory enjoyed hilarious witty jokes of the funniest Comedy Club UA residents – “Dobryy Vecher” duet, “Imeni Chekhova” duet, Uncle Zhora. New fans and loyal supporters of Ukrainian comedians had a great chance to get an earful of bright, quality humor on their own territory.

On October 27, 2008, the city of Donetsk welcomed a really grand event! For the sake of support and strengthening of Ukriane's spirit and image, for the love of favourite work and efforts, La Terrazza restaurant of the Donbass Palace Hotel achieved a record for the longest Italian pasta, thus breaking the last analogous record fixed in the Guinness Book of World Records that was set in Belguim this summer.
