Lions Club Donetsk and Donbass Palace Hotel organized a charitable exhibition “Kids for Kids” which took place from 18 till 31 of May 2010. This is already the second time that 7 to 12 years old students of Donetsk schools get together for 2 weeks to create paintings under supervision of professional painter — Victotiya Polianskaya. The goal of the exhibition is to help their counterparts from the Slaviansk boarding school for blind and visually impaired children as all money collected during this exhibition were used to purchase portable optical magnifiers Opal for education of children with residual vision.
Over the last week the Donbass Palace hotel hosted the group of seven Italian cardiologists coming to Donetsk invited by the Administration of Gusak Institute of Urgent and Recovery Surgery (IURS) of Academy of Medical Science of Ukraine. All members of the team are able to perform any type of surgery and invasive cardiological procedure to treat congenital heart diseases both in children and adults.
On the Easter Day, traditional Eggs Battle Championship was held at the Opera Hotel and the Donbass Palace. Shakhtar football players attended the event in Donetsk. In Kiev, from the football team Maestro were invited to join the celebration.

When the clock struck 12, guests that came to celebrate the New Year at the Donbass Palace made a journey in time – leaving 2009 behind and entering 2010, and visited one of the most spectacular events in the world – The Venetian Carnival!
